I have really been putting planning for MITS off... But I am getting it done... I finished a hunt bridle for Topic complete with laced reins! [The small print: I was working late one night and laced the reins BOTH backwards so... XD I redid them, in the morning. And yes, I use the backs of old school notebooks as work pads...] Also done is a hunter/jumper breastplate for Topic's set with my 50 cent elastic... we are gonna rock this! Also finished: black browband gaming bridle with green reins [awesome] pink browband bridle with sparkles green gaming saddle red gaming saddle black dressage saddle black GP saddle some vetrap boots some girths and some other things... I will try to have more pictures of the new saddles and other exciting stuff! Now for all that classlist paperwork shmulz... ;)

Well... it took about two weeks because of school but now it's done! Up for sale or trade, One side saddle w/ girth, bridle (with extra non blingy browband), sandwich case, and 2 leg wraps, I can add a breastplate if wanted. For comparisons sake, here is a really old side saddle. And... because some people like these, Progress Pictures! That is the inside of the knee roll, I use blue felt kind of for luck... I hope the new owner of this saddle will win many blue ribbons! :) -Becky Please Comment!!!After my first "big" saddle I decided to refine it a little more... Starting with a new tree, I made this one out of wire, air-dry clay, and a pop can, I am pretty happy with how it turned out! I also switched out the blank studs like on the other saddle for "diamond" ones! I added some more detail to the fenders... Complicated the cinch strap a little more... I like it more though, it is fun to do. Then, I put it all together! I snatched Un-Named Valentines bridle - it does look good on him though... ;) Amazingly I even had time to finish painting a portrait horse! Ditto is a Quarter x Percheron cross to he was strong, stocky, and had a very wide girth! (Much bigger than the models!) Since I rode Ditto at Disney on a trail ride, I put his Mickey head hair cut on him! He even has silver horseshoes! Incredibly I was able to finish both projects in one sitting! Thanks to my furry little foot warmer! Hope you liked him! (and the saddle)
It is amazing how quickly this... turned into this! And this... into this! My very first traditional set! This was my first try at a traditional scale saddle and I am pretty happy with how it turned out. I would consider the saddle PSQ because I know there are some *minor* problems but practice makes perfect, and this was practice. I am not entirely happy with the way the jockeys wrap around the horn and how chunks of glue are visible, I also think the jockeys are too far up on the horn... I was also able to make a red, white, and blue gaming bridle, red tie-down, and a red breastplate! I *think* this is how a tie-down is used... I have also been experimenting with a bandage material called Coban, it is a medical tape that is very easy to use and only sticks to itself! I have been trying it on all kinds of scales, when cut to different thicknesses it works perfectly! (Sorry for the GI Joe, her other glove has throwing stars on it!) I was in the tacking-up mood so it put my new bareback set by Madelyne on Tom Sawyer, enjoy! Hopefully soon I will be able to take pictures of some models on the beach!
Sorry for the break... after MITS I took a short tackmaking hiatus, which is now over! Recently I moved my tack-making desk into my "Craft Closet" which is now my studio. I keep all of my horses on these shelves, the bottom shelve has performance scenes and dioramas on it. I have mostly collected schleichs, although since I want to progress to open performance showing I am trying to collect more traditional models and perfect my traditional scale tack. So far this is my traditional collection consists of (from left to right), Sapphire, Tow Sawyer (with handmade base), a Giselle mold without a name yet, and a Child Star mold without a name yet, all are LSQ. I also have two body quality Mistys, Sea Star, and Scribbles. Here is a better picture of my new GG Valentine and Heartbreaker! Next I have my "Rolly Cart" which is full of my leather, some tools (pliers, leather punch, etc.) patterns, and ribbon. I also "borrowed" a computer for reference (and sometimes entertainment!) Next is my work in progress pail, I am currently working on a traditional scale barrel saddle. I didn't realize it was a "Candy Cane" edition until after I started it! When I am not working at my desk it looks like this... When I am working it looks like this... except with skiver, leather bits, and pattern pieces everywhere! I hope you liked the pictures!
